What a busy summer. We’ve had an excellent third summer with many local and varied events. There has been the Spring Gathering followed by the Abernethy Highland Games. Many guests have stayed with us utilising Granite Cottage as their base to explore the surrounding areas. From coastal trails, which are just an hours drive away to historic Scotland, bird watching, golf and bowling to name but a few. This together with a vast number of activities including both gentle and tough walking. Once again, the annual duck race organised by Rotary proved a popular event – sadly our duck ‘fell at the first fence’. This year we seem to have attracted many athletes who have taken part in the following local events including the Aviemore Triatholon, Inverness Marathon, World Orienteering Championships held in Forres and family and friends following their completion of cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats. What a year!
